Our water quality service (a.k.a. “potability” testing) draws necessary samples of a property’s drinking water for the purpose of laboratory analyses. Mortgage lenders and/or cash buyers need to know how “safe” the water is for consumption when it’s provided from a private well system, rather than from a public utility. They typically ask for analyses of the possible presence of coliform (fecal) bacteria, nitrites, nitrates, and arsenic. Some lenders are also asking for an analysis of possible lead in water. However, there are many more possible analyses that can be run on water samples, depending upon the specific concerns of buyers. Our staff is trained to obtain water samples according to the laboratory’s protocols to ensure meaningful results that are reported in an easy-to-understand format.
